Draftsman since he, as he remembers, took a pencil when he was four, Carlos Garrido Sobrio, has had an autodidactic training as painter that has driven him to oil painting and watercolor and, as potter, to his singular and wonderful murals.
His paint brushes dance over the ceramic pieces creating a composition that has in every detail, in every piece, a work that will form in its final place the essential part of a whole. True paintings over the earthenware of his murals, which move among the realism of portrait and still life, the sweetness and spirituality of religious motifs, likewise fretworks and geometrical and floral ornaments as classical baseboard for façades.
When he was 21 he got two first pottery national prizes for “Talabricense”, the company in which he is the artistic manager. He works by advance order from his workshop in all kinds of murals, signs and decorative elements on tiles.
