CRAFTSMAN

Juan Medina Bueno was trained at the family workshop with a four-generation tradition. Nevertheless, in spite of this deep artisan work heritage, he supports the incorporation of new technologies to make the work easier but without replacing hand-making and the individual and exclusive piece.

From his workshop doors, lattices, headboards and some other pieces come out to be implemented in indoor and outdoor architecture without standing out by their style but by their perfection. Where this craftsman’s artistic inclination becomes obvious is in his free creations that characterize his personal work, such as crosses, chains and miniatures of historical objects.

He supports an artisan modernization without losing the traditional and the manufacturing flavor. Arguments, strategies and techniques that can keep alive the craftwork legacy. As popularizer, he is a responsible and an interested party in the showing-exhibition of Sierra del Segura Tourist Information Office, in Elche de la Sierra, an exhibition, awareness and sale platform, which is also a place to meet other craftsmen worried about the future of this vocational trade.
