Wild boar from Castile-La Mancha
TROPHY CHARACTERISTICS
The differentiating feature of the male wild boar lies in its corpulence and in the size of its canines, which are called whetters –the upper ones - and cutters –the lower ones -. The male weight fluctuates between 80 and 110 kilos.
The wild boar trophy scores according to the size and the characteristics of tusks and whetters. The tusks are measured in length and width. The whetters by its perimeter at the thickest section. The tusks score higher if their shade at the end is black or dark brown and if the tips are sharp. The whetters score higher according to their curvature.
HaBITAT DISTRIBUtIoN
It is present at all the preserves in Castile-La Mancha, with a high density.
HUNTING SEASON AND MODALITIES
It coincides with the big game hunting season and includes small game hunting, beating, big game hunting, spot and stalk and blind or stand hunting.
