The Middle Ages comes to Hita at the beginning of July. The setting could not be more favorable, considering all that the locals contribute, dressed in medieval vestments and hanging banners on the balconies of the houses and on the city wall. In an authentic return to the style of the 7th and 8th centuries, we can see exercises ofbohordos- short projectile lances,estafermos- revolving figures used for the training of the horsemen, and other exercises such as ring jousting. The theatrical performances center on medieval themes: the battle between Don Carnal and Doña Cuaremsa from the Book of Good Love from the Archpriest of Hita, or the Song of Roland, an epic poem from the 6th century. Additionally, there are street markets, artisan wares, and guided visits provided by the heritage society of Hita.
