MAIN ATTRACTIONS

This small village of Cuenca doesn’t quite reach 30 registered inhabitants in its 41.4 square km. It sprawls out at the feet of a hill at the peak of which there are remains of its lime-and-pebble ancient castle wall.

WHAT WE’LL SEE

The hamlet is built upon a steep crag, which makes for a spectacular setting. A walk through this town of steep, narrow streets will make us forget our day-to-day stresses and worries. The visitor can take in the charm of its mountain homes with traditional touches, and admire the delicate beauty of its parish church of the Assumption, possibly of Romanesque origins, as well as the small hermitage of Our Lady of Santerón, slightly apart from the town but of great devotion among its locals. At the top of the hill you can visit the few remains of an ancient castle that was situated there, which clearly seem to have had Muslim influence.

ACCESS

Freely accessible.

OUR RECOMMENDATIONS
