Horcajo de los Montes, set deep in Cabañeros National Park, offers an unique place in the Mediterranean forest in a protected area in Los Montes de Toledo, where nature is at is best in fauna and flora. Another attraction of this town is the production of handmade carpets. Of its industrial heritage, the olive mill is preserved, which is a restaurant nowadays.

WHAT WE’LL SEE

The town preserves the old olive mill inside La Almazara de Cabañeros restaurant. It has been restored, without modifying the most significant elements of industrial architecture, the adobe and slate walls, the wood beams and the original machinery.

The restaurant offers, appart from a succulent selection of the gastronomy of the region, the visit to the old olive mill in the Museo Interpretativo de Aceite (Oil Musem), the rest in the Sala de Música (Music Room), in the old  scale; to see how bees produce honey, the Museo Etnográfico (Ethnographic Museum); as well as the possibility of buying typical products such as cheese, honey, etc.
