The castle adapts its floor plan to the hill upon which it is built, in such a way that it seems to raise it up, forming part of the same rock. From its heights the views of the Cuenca mountain range are spectacular.
HISTORY AND DESCRIPTION
The remains that we are able to visit now are a result of the reforms undertaken between the 14th and 15th centuries, hence its character in between medieval and Renaissance. In the interior of the parade the cistern is preserved.
It appears mentioned in a donation document from king Alfonso VIII, from 1187, in which he gives it to the bishop of Cuenca.
