MAIN ATTRACTIONS
In the most remote point of the la Alcudia valley and connecting Extremadura, Andalusia, and Castile-La Mancha, we find the beautiful town of Guadalmez. This lovely place preserves the traces of its settlers from the Bronze Age in the cave art in the Cueva del Candil. Also passing through here were Romans, Visigoths, and Arabs, who made its urban complex a mix of cultures that will not leave the visitor indifferent.
WHAT WE’LL SEE
Regarding its traditional architecture, the chimneys of the oldest houses of the town stand out with their truncated pyramid-shaped structures. Its lovely hallways decorated with mural paintings with costumbrist themes or landscapes and the pastoral huts, circular with stone plinth and floor and covered with foliage, that still today are abundant in the town although not in very good states of preservation. This whole urban ensemble will make the visit a unique experience for the traveler who comes to this area.

Don’t leave without photographing the church of Saint Sebastian from the 15th century; the house-palace of the Duke of Medinaceli, from the early 16th century; and the bridge of las Arenas, over the Guadalmez River, which allows the passage of the train that runs the trajectory Badajoz-Madrid.
