On January 23rd 2005, this Contemporary Art Gallery was opened in San Juan de Dios Hospital, a building that was part of San Juan de Dios Order Convent, with the aim of promoting knowledge, access and public trainee to the contemporary art in its diverse expressions and encourage the social communication of plastic arts, mixing traditions and the most artistic contemporary expressions in Almagro.
It has more than 60 works from particular funds and transfers. Works made by Alberto García Alix, Albretch Tübke, Carlos Correira, Christoph Rutiman, Enrique Marty, GüÇlü Öztekin, José Maria Guijarro, Mira Bernabeu,Rafael Agredano, Tacita Dean, and Tomi Osuna, among others. The collection is expanding constantly.
A large number of temporary exhibitions, conferences, activities and workshops for schools are carried out.
