Almost on the border with Ávila, we find the lovely mountain town of Navamorcuende, 100 km from Toledo and on the Northeast side of the Sierra de San Vicente. Its surroundings allow the traveler to enjoy its windmills, arranged on the road that joins the town with El Real de San Vicente, and el Caño, an 18th century fountain made of stone and where the traveler can take advantage of resting and refreshing.
WHAT WE’LL SEE
The town preserves a beautiful church, that of Santa María de la Nava, which figures as an Asset of Cultural Interest in the category of Monument for its temperate construction. Its walls of ashlar and Renaissance buttresses were raised in the 16th century and decorated with balls and pinnacles. At the foot of the church there is a tower of two bodies. The stones of the ecclesiastic ensemble acquire a special brilliance if you see them in autumn and in the rain.
ACCESS
Freely accessible, respecting mass hours.
OUR RECOMMENDATIONS
Close to the church, in a small plaza, we will find a fountain from the 18th century with an octagonal basin and two pipes. A place to stop and rest.
