MAIN ATTRACTIONS
Herencia possesses among its industrial and supply belongings two places which symbolise pride and necessity. La Copa, located in Paraje de la Pedriza, is a modern monument, but of great importance because it supplied water to the centre of the town, to the Fuente del Caño, what was a problem from its beginnings. This lack of water and its cost saving resulted in the election in 1790 of the windmills instead of the water ones.
WHAT WE’LL SEE
Seven mills are preserved, all with their names, something typical: El Ama, La Sobrina, Dulcinea, Maritones, La Dueña Dolorida, La Duquesa and Teresa Panza. The last four mills have been restored and create an image of a typical town of La Mancha.
