Located in “La Casa de los Girón y Cañizares”, a building with regular plant and two facades, one the main facade to the street Alfonso VIII, with four stories, and the other one in Peso street, with five. This building has a lot of decorative elements in Neoclassical style.
The museum, which was opened on May 10th2007, exhibits more than 150 pieces of great artistic and sentimental value. It gathers together different documents from past centuries, such as constitutional books, manuscripts and handwritten sketches of image painters and sculptors which collaborated in the Easter’s Renaissance of Cuenca, remarking ceremonials, bulls and documents of cults from 17thand 18thcenturies. Amazing Isabelline style tunics, velvet capes, “cingulos”, crowns, sagums, lanterns, scripts, insignias and different items from past centuries which once filed through the stone pavement of Cuenca.
