Villarrubio (Cuenca)Among the typical dishes of the house are Solomillo a la leña (sirloin cooked by firewood), Merluza a la Vasca (Basque-style hake), las Kokotxas con angulas (barbels with elvers), and above all the typical judías con perdiz (beans with partridge), bacalao al pil pil (cod in garlic sauce),and chuletas de cordero (lamb chops) al Sarmiento, all of which is prepared in a traditional firewood kitchen and supplemented by a large selection of wines.
To finish, the delicious home-made desserts, such as Natillas con tarta de la abuela (custard with grandma’s cake) or cuajada casera (curds),paired with liqueurs and typical drinks of the area.
The restaurant takes reservations and has two large rooms with different decor, and a small shop in which you can purchase artisan wares and prepared foods from the region.
